(Henderson, NV) – Today, Henderson resident and business owner John Kovacs announced he is running for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District. Kovacs, a civil engineer, will be seeking the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent Democrat Susan Lee in November of next year.
“Today, I am proud to announce my candidacy for Congress,” Kovacs stated. “I’ve spent many years out of politics focusing on my work and raising my family while, in the meantime, hoping Congress would address the critical issues facing our great nation. Unfortunately, Susan Lee has ignored these most pressing matters. Instead, she has opted to align herself with the most radical elements in her party and promote their socialist agenda while our problems grow increasingly dire. Therefore, I cannot stand by and do nothing as our nation withers.”
In his campaign launch video, which can be viewed here, Kovacs outlines many of the challenges our nation faces, caused by reckless spending in Washington, appeasement of left-wing agitators and rioters, Washington politicians’ attempted takeover of state and local elections, failure to defend the basic liberties enshrined in our Constitution, and the dangerous indoctrination of our kids in a racist rewrite of American history.
“I love our country, and I’m not going to sit idly by while people try to destroy it from within,” Kovacs continued. “We will talk directly to the voters, taking up the issues that so many others are afraid of and refuse to even talk about. Our country and everything that makes us unique and exceptional is under attack. I will call it out, and we will go to work to defend our guiding principles, which keep people empowered and in charge of their government.”
Kovacs is a first-generation American who grew up in New Jersey; graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina; became a civil engineer and business owner; and, along with his family, moved to Nevada in 2015.
He continues operating successful businesses in both states, and his companies have earned millions of dollars in revenue and provided hundreds of jobs.
